Descriptions of Roles

        1. Course Coordinator – The educator that is entirely responsible for running the course. The responsibilities include all the administrative and educational duties.  The responsibilities include preparing all the course material (syllabus, calendar, exams etc.) as well as lecturing and managing the discussion leaders of the course.
        2. Course Instructor – An instructor assigned to be the sole teacher of a course with only one section. Responsibilities are the same as of a Coordinator if there is not a designated Coordinator.
        3. Xronos Developer – The Xronos Project is the open-source online homework system that is being developed out of the University of Florida.  The responsibility of a developer is to construct and maintain question banks, create and publish new content, troubleshoot technical difficulties students have, and maintain and develop the system for future courses.  For more information, please see my Xronos Information page.
        4. AIM Instructor – The University of Florida Office of Admissions selectively chooses and admits students University of Florida depending on their background information. The AIM program  gives the students the opportunity to take basic mathematics courses with select instructors in a smaller size classroom. An AIM Lecturer meets with the students triple time than a normal lecture and s/he becomes the instructor, mentor and discussion leader for these students. AIM Lecturers might be working with a coordinator if the coordinated course exists. In those cases, they act as a control group for the entire course. They take the same exams and are required to catch up with the mass course’s calendar.
        5. Discussion Leader – Responsible for holding discussion lectures every week with multiple sections and be the first point of contact for students.  Also responsible for assigning some graded material and grading all class material.
